Tamara Comolli on What to Expect from Baselworld 2018 – Tamara Comolli, CEO of the homonymous brand of designer jewellery, sees many benefits in baselworld’s concentration on strong brands.
Baselworld: What do you expect from this year’s Baselworld?
Tamara Comolli: I expect continued enthusiasm for our brand from our existed customers. There are fewer exhibitors this year, so I expect the jewellers to screen us even more quickly. I am recognized as one of the important players and trendsetters. I continue to see Baselworld as the fundamental show in the high-quality watch and jewellery industry. We are curious to see who will discover us and who will explicitly seek us out.
Why does Baselworld remain so important?
Because the wheat is separated from the chaff here. The exhibitors who are present here gain a certain standing.
What highlights are you bringing to the show?
Our collection has a very strong DNA. We continue to rely on our clear “signature”, also in our new designs, which can be integrated marvellously well into our existing collections. We are also adding an accent this year by giving a dedicated presentation to our highly successful India collection, which we now establish as an independent line alongside our popular Mikado, Signature and Bouton lines. We continue to work with surprising material effects, special gemstones and a great deal of storytelling, of course.
