Baselworld: From your point of view: What significance does Baselworld have for Swarovski?
Nathalie Colin: Even though we design and conceive our watches as true fashion accessories, they all feature expert craftsmanship, Swiss-made quality and refined details. For that reason it is key for us, as a global player, to be in Baselworld to present our novelties and innovations to international buyers, press and public. Participating in the fair since the launch of our first watch collection in 2009 definitely helped us gain credibility on the timepiece scene, and it gave us a fantastic opportunity to show the world how much the brand cherishes brilliance for all, offering watches in a rich variety of styles from timeless to on trend, for all personalities and across occasions.
What do you expect from this year’s Baselworld edition?
I am thrilled to be here this year, we have some exciting new lines to unveil, starring the Crystal Lake family which features an amazing dial made of a single piece of faceted sapphire crystal. So once more, we demonstrate that style and technical expertise can harmoniously join forces. Generally speaking, I look forward to the excitement of the fair, to the rich exchanges and feedbacks we get from various stakeholders, to the creativity we can feel in the air … and I must say it is very energizing to do so on our dazzling booth, which for sure remains one of the most eye-catching ones of the entire fair.
