Basel World Swarovski 2014

At Basel World 2014, the world’s biggest and most important event in the watch and jewellery industry, Swarovski will present a spectacular stand designed by Tokujin Yoshioka. This fascinating creation evokes images of a swan in a lake, opening its wings elegantly, a poetic reference to the brand’s image. Tokujin Yoshioka named the concept “Wings of Sparkle”.
Tokujin Yoshioka said: “My desire was to create a space that arises from the light itself. I wanted to express the space through the blaze of light and not by the forms. Visitors will enter in Swarovski’s world when covered by a light’s ray and when immersed in a light’s bath”. To achieve those light effects, the stand is surrounded entirely by a 7 meter high arched wall made of 253 231 reflectors with a mirrored surface. The installation has 155 meters in circumference.

Tokujin Yoshioka and his team have been working in the production of this ambitious project since November 2011.
This is a new collaboration which Swarovski initiates with the talented Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka, however the designer had already projected the company’s previous stand and the sophisticated architecture of the first Swarovski emblematical store, Swarovski Ginza in Tokyo.
