All About PAD Genève 2019
PAD Genève is an event entirely dedicated to modern and exclusive furniture as well as showing the best of the decorative arts. This event has attracted many fans and collectors of design and decorative arts for more than two decades and in Geneva, it’s on its second edition (before it was an event set on London, Paris, and Monaco). This year’s edition opens to the public today at 12 pm at Palexpo, and it will last until the 3rd of February.
Each of the galleries of the event is focused on a specific time period, or a style and/or collection by individual designers. Overall the main event’s goal is to perfectly show that the design market and contemporary arts are two sectors that are growing in the current market while at the same time showing that these two areas can fuse in perfect harmony.
It’s no wonder this event became such a great meeting point for collectors, designers, and the general artists and design enthusiasts. This is a spot where they can meet and gain new knowledge on the finest collections from the twentieth and twenty-first century by some of the world’s most prestige leading galleries and specialists.
Last year this event attracted over 20,000 collectors and design enthusiasts over 5 days. This year a new success is expected with the presence of many organizations which are sure to show the best of the fusion between design and art.

Of course one of the main things to see in Geneva in the public eye is Lake Geneva, which brings the full natural splendor of the Alps to the center of the city. If you go for a footwalk you can’t miss the Vielle Ville which is the largest historic center in Switzerland. Another top reference of the city is the St Pierre Cathedral, dating all the way back to the 12th century and with a variety of ancient vestiges to be explored. Not only that, but you can go up this cathedral’s towers and be greeted with an outstanding view of the Alps, Jura, and Geneva which is a particularly beautiful sight in Wintertime.
Geneva’s botanical garden is also another spot of reference for tourists. This gardens’ herbarium catalogs more than six million distinct specimens. Not very far from there is the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), currently the second-largest of the four major office sites of the United Nations. We bet you won’t want to come home after experiencing the city in its fullest splendor.
