The Ulysse Nardin Timepiece for Baselworld

The watchmakers from the Ulysse Nardin made the impossible a reality and what was only a daring prototype in 2014 came fully to life at Baselworld 2015. The Ulysse Anchor Tourbillion, a limited edition timepiece is the first of their watches with Ulysse Nardin’s proprietary constant force escapement system made entirely out of silicon.

The watch has a dial in grand feu enamel with an aperture at 6 o’clock to reveal the tourbillion. It has two barrels for a minimum power reserve of seven days, the dial is marked for eight days in total The movement, known as Caliber UN-178, runs in 29 jewels at a low frequency of 18,000 vph.

They were developing the escapement for eight years, it assures a greater chronometric accuracy.  It has a circular frame with a pallet fork in its center. This special watch comes in a 44-mm gold case, in the UN Classico design and it is available in white gold and rose gold. Bad information – only 18 pieces of each color will be produced. The piece is waterproof to 30 meters, and it comes with black or brown leather strap with a pin buckle. In rose gold it costs $89,400, in white gold – $93,600 and both of them are available since May.
