One of them is called Design At Large, featuring large-scale works of historical and contemporary design that transcend the traditional gallery booth. The program aims to showcase ambitious installations that showcase interactive technology, performance and microarchitecture. Each edition of Design At Large will be centered on the theme of twentieth and twenty-first century architectural expression. The program is presented at the entrance to Design Miami/ Basel in a 2000 square meter Event Hall designed by the architects Herzog & de Meuron.

At the same time there is a new exhibition platform, called Design Curio which invites designers, curators, innovators and gallerists to present cabinets of curiosity throughout the fair. Each Curio will reveal a total environment of objects, textures, artifacts and ideas that challenge and contextualize familiar design narratives.
The program spans the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and emphasises surprising installations of scientific and technological research alongside handcraft and creative production. The Curios are interspersed amongst Design Miami’s core galleries, infusing the fair’s exhibition program with inventive snapshots of today’s design landscape.
Overall, Design Miami/ invites the foremost design collectors and enthusiasts to interact with a diverse selection of exhibitions featuring rare works ranging from pioneering modernists to cutting edge contemporary designers.
